Madison Farmers market

Farmers Market

I took this one last fall in Madison. Yes, I know it's pretty late for posting.

Who's doing the next challenge?? How about the fall leaves??

Jenn's trip to the Market

I finally took some shots yesterday! Not an easy feat with a toddler running around everywhere. Is there any more beautiful art than fresh veggies and flowers? I think not!

The rest of you have just a couple more weeks to visit the outdoor market! I'd love to see what perspective you get. Thanks again, Liz, for posting yours!

These first two I played with the contrast in post production- just for fun.

I think this corn is so pretty! I would love to have taken more photos- to get some better close-ups.

Can anyone bake better than the Amish can? Probably not. But out of respect for his privacy, I waited until he looked down to get this picture.

One day I'm gonna splurge and buy the flowering kale. It's so pretty!

Beautiful Mums and pumpkins

Is anyone else loving Fall as much as I am?! The colors and weather have been amazing! Please share your autumn photos with us! Especially of the gorgeous trees. I would love to see them! Here's one I took in front of the capital. I kind of like the tilt.

Farmer's Market Challenge

Hey ladies,

Can I challenge y'all to take some photos at the Farmer's Market? Preferably on the Square? We have a few months til it goes indoors, let's all try to get out there sometime and share our photos with each other. I would LOVE to include some in my Madison photobook.

Thanks!

C family

Hmm... some days I feel like selling my camera and taking up another hobby.  But I'll share these anyway.  I don't know if I'm being super critical or if these are good at all. A minute of your time to comment would be greatly appreciated. I'm in need of some warm fuzzies.

I have a new favorite toddler girl in my life.
This girl pulls the greatest straight face. She just got splashed by a dog here.

State Street

There's something so romantic about empty cafe chairs.

I put my camera in black and white mode first, and then shot.  I find by doing that it makes me more aware of lines and curves and contrast.  The following photos are all ISO 200, f5.6, 1/160 at 55mm.  I also pushed the exposure up 1.3+.  I like them.  Maybe because I love that I can find curvy Paris like cast iron fencing and chairs in Madison.  So perhaps I'm the only one who will like these.  Either way, it was very fun to shoot today.  I did not do any retouching.  I'm trying to steer clear of that while I learn how to take better pictures.

A Tree Grows in Maryland

I don't think you can see really well what I intended to photograph unless you look really closely. This little tree is growing out of a stump that is in the lake. It was so cool, but the trunk of the little tree is so skinny, it was hard to highlight that against the background of the green leaves. And I was taking the picture from the lake, meaning I was swimming while trying to capture the image. It was a little tricky. But it was such an awesome scene that I had to try. I wish I had captured it a little better.....

Washington Coast

Hope you don't mind me still sharing pictures. :) We enjoyed a 3 day, 2 night back packing trip along the WA coast last week. I just thought I'd share some highlights.

An endless sand box: f/7.1, SS 1/1000

Tricky maneuvering (too bad this doesn't show how steep it was on the decent): f/6.3, SS 1/320

Muscles - we later learned we weren't supposed to eat them because they cause Paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP)!!! We saw the sign on the way out: f/5.0, SS 1/160

Before our bonfire: f/7.1, SS 1/400

Cool Lookin Flowers

I saw these at the Splash Park (the one off Allen Blvd.)  Aren't they so unique?

Please pardon my "too wide aperture out of focus look". Lane was on my hip, so I was doing this one handed and forgot to up the f-stop.  :)  Feel free to go to the same park and shoot them yourself!

Baby D

I love the big lip! So sweet. I told his mom I would take him home if she wanted me to :)

So sad!
Sleeping.
I took these outside on a sheet :) I would love to have some cute baby props and a nice reflector to help with even lighting (especially for inside). One day perhaps?. . . . I just thought it would be fun to share some photo's of a cute baby. These were my favorites.

A Few Flower Shots

I took my camera to the garden with me and snapped a few quick pictures while I was there. The first one is one of my strawberry plants, and the last three are my tulips.
